When looking to get married in the Southwest, nothing says New Mexico quite like Hacienda Doña Andrea. Tucked away in the Santa Fe Mountains, this hacienda encompasses the charming and eclectic feel the Southwest has to offer. While wanting to highlight the natural beauty of this venue, a rich and Fall- inspired color palette was added to both the florals and the decor to compliment the organic features of the pueblo styled home. Punches of burgundy, burnt orange, and teal gave this wedding striking contrast to round out a romantic yet edgy look.
Southwest weddings are all about bold, romantic style. From the colorful decor to the flowers and bride’s gown, everything about this type of wedding screams “love.” If you’re looking for some southwestern wedding inspiration, here are a few ideas to get you started.
For the decor, think bright and bold. A mix of turquoise, pink, and orange is perfect for a southwest-themed wedding. And don’t forget the cacti! They make for great centerpieces and can even be used in the bouquet. As for the dress, a flowy Grecian-style gown is perfect for a southwest bride. Add a statement necklace and some gladiator sandals, and you’re all set!
What was your design inspiration?
Design inspiration was pulled from the rich and bold tones of the Fall season. Fall in New Mexico is the most beautiful season due to the natural color changing of the desert vegetations. It is in the Fall season we begin to see those rich orange and red tones. The coordinator, Shelby, new that fall inspired tones would look amazing amongst the natural architecture and design of Hacienda Doña Andrea. With added punches of burgundy, burnt orange, and teal, Shelby wanted to create a look that had an edge, while still curating a romantic and charming wedding day.
Describe your flowers.
This floral bouquet is striking yet elegant. The yellow, orange, and red tones were not only inspired by the colors of Fall, but were designed to also compliment the coloring of the venue by enhancing the warm undertones of the Spanish tiling, wooden doors, and tan coloring of the Hacienda.
Describe your cake.
This cake is one of the most bold features of this shoot. It is edgy, and very nontraditional. Its unique shape catches your eye and plays to the trend of Arch designed cakes that have been making their debuting in the cake and wedding industry. Its brown sugar cake layers filled with cookie dough buttercream was to die for!
